The Son Doong Cave in Vietnam is the largest cave in the world. It’s more than 9.5km long, has a jungle and a river and could fit a 40-storey skyscraper inside. But no one knew that until it was first explored four years ago. Public tours will begin in 2014.

(PS: I had never heard of jungle in a cave, since it is supposed to have very little sunshine.)
